A mystery solved?

This blog automatically creates links on my Facebook timeline, and it has always posted the links with a nondescript blue icon that looks like a power on/off button. I hadn’t looked into it in any great detail, but no one I asked seemed to know what it was or where it came from.

Well, by random chance I discovered that WordPress automatically links accounts to a site called Gravatar, which stands for ‘globally recognised avatar’, and if I have clicked the right buttons, this post should be announced to the world of Facebook not with a generic blue button, but with the comic representation of my mug seen below.

I will, in time, need to create an avatar more suited to the grand visage of the great Capitan, but for now, my plasticine doppelgänger will have to do.

I didn’t realize it wasn’t actually a picture of you until I read the word avatar … nice blog by the way.
